08 Mar Visit by Eighth Wonder’s photographer
Mary Hensley’s niece, Hope Morris, visited the Philippines and the project for two weeks during February. Hope, a budding commercial photographer living in New York City, is no stranger to the project. Hope took all of the product photos in the online store.
During her two weeks in the Philippines, Hope and Vicky traveled to Baguio City, the regional capital of the Cordillera Region; all three provinces where the project is operating; plus, the high elevation municipalities of Kibungan and Baukun, Benguet, which would like to join the project.
A successful meeting
In Kalinga, Hope visited the municipality of Lubuagan, where Mary had been a US Peace Corps Volunteer thirty plus years ago. Her host was Isabel Agustin, the RICE, Inc coordinator for the Lubuagan area. Thirty years ago, Isabel was the midwife at the Rural Health Unit in Uma, Lubuagan, where Mary was assigned.

Posted at 17:35h, 01 JulyHope, How can I contact Isabel? She was a very dear friend of mine who worked with her in the Peace Corps right after she was in Lubuagan when Mary was here. She came to work with me at PRRM in Nueva Ecija where I set up a center for appropriate technology and local medicine. She was very much a part of making that successful. Thanks. I am currently a USAID Foreign Service Officer currently assigned in Washington DC.
